I'm quite excited at the moment
I managed to work through my long list of ordered Amigurumis and only got a few mug cozies left to crochet. It has been fun but stressful, far to many late nights and I probably gained another gray hair or two in the process. Not that anyone would notice, I went a bit mad a month ago and changed my hair from blond to bright vibrant red... Hum di dum di dum.... :D
I also finished my Halloween Amigurumi too. Yeay! Stitched it together last night.
What else, oh yes I had a request to make a custom made Ami that I've also finished (I'm hoping to show some pics soon if the new owner don't mind ). I had to attach hair for the first time on that one and that was a challenge. It did how ever encourage me to try it again...
...so now I got a new project. I'm gonna find a pattern I like and make another amigurumi with hair
Oh... and if Santa is reading this, I think I need a new camera for Christmas. I tried fiddling around with all possible settings but most of my pictures now turn out blurry.
Reminder to oneself if I do get a new camera, keep it out of reach from the children, cameras do not bounce when dropped on the floor

Library display
I know, it does look a bit empty.
I'm torn on what pieces to display.
At the moment most of my Amigurumis are in a box ready for the next craft fair...
But it is not until a week Saturday so I have been seriously contemplating on taking some of them out and bring them over to the library.
Well put it this way, looking at the pictures I think I just convinced myself.
I got another4 gurumis lying here in a box waiting to be assembled but I'm still waiting for the eyes to arrive in the post. I ordered some Suncatcher Eyes from USA 3 weeks ago. With a bit of luck they should be here any day now.

Halloween party
Showing you a couple of picture from my boy Ryan's Halloween party.

My two oldest boys helping me setting up all the food and my youngest boy eating it

Party games: wrap a mummy and "put the cat on the witches broom" (Hubby painted the witch on a large piece of cardboard and I cut out the black cats to stick on)

We also played: "Throw a glow-stick-necklace over the witches hat" Couldn't get a better picture since we played this in the dark. Then we did Pass the pumpkin (instead of pass the parcel) I liked this variation since it saved us using wrapping paper.

and after that it was time for party bags and going home

This years Halloween pumpkins.

Halloween amigurumis...or the lack of them should I say
I was hoping to have a couple, or at least one, Halloween amigurumi ready to show you tomorrow but things has not gone as planned here...
My little Emrys (15mnth) has been unwell most of today with high temperature, so there has been ibuprofen, Calpol, undressing, cold baths and loads of cuddles and falling a sleep in my arms instead.
And as the boys went to bed this evening my oldest boy Matthew complained of feeling unwell, oh joy......
Yesterday, we were baking for Ryan's Halloween/birthday party
Wednesday was calm and quiet
And then Tuesday... we went visiting friends in Somerset (3hrs drive back and forth) and that took up most of the day....
Right now I'm just hoping that all my boys will be well and happy tomorrow and that we can enjoy the day. I know Ryan has planned his party since April so fingers crossed there will be no more hiccups.
I do however have one Halloween amigurumi almost done :) and it will be posted here in the next few days.

December holiday
This evening I did something out of the ordinary.
I put down the crochet hook and looked around for a book to read.
Up til March this year (that is when I learned how to crochet) I always had a book or more on the go. I used to visit the library once or twice a week. From the early years of my life I always had my nose deep into a book fantasizing, dreaming away in stories written.
At a short point in my life, around 12yrs of age or so, I even lived in a flat behind the local library. I remember vividly skipping school just so I could sneak of and find a cozy corner in the library with a book.
Now don't get me wrong, I love crocheting. I find it soooo relaxing....but I'm starting to miss my books.
Come December things are calming down with my fairs/markets and custom orders so I'm planning to chill out with a good book.
Any suggestions on what I can read?
I read most stuff... not too keen on romance, but the occasional one is ok.... (Time travelers wife was brilliant)
I got as a habit when I find a good book to read everything else by the same author
so please don't suggest:
Lee Child
Mark Billingham
Val McDermid
Ian Rankin
Ken Follett
Jeffery Deaver
Karin Slaughter
Tess Gerritsen
Robin Hobb
Dean R Koontz
Stephen King
Richard Montanari
James Patterson
Stuart Mc Bride
J.D Robb
Michael Marshall
Jilliane Hoffman
Martina Cole
Harland Coben
John Sandford
Kathryn Fox
Kathryn Kerr
Karen Rose
Dennis Lehane
Chris Mooney
Virginia Andrews
Jean M Auel
Ed McBain
Orson Scott Card
..coz I most likely read them all.
There are loads of other authors that I've read, but trying to remember them all and the books would take a silly amount of time however this gives you an idea on what to suggest. Fiction/fantasy or Crime/thriller would be fab.... trilogies would be great too
When i read The clan of the cave bear by Jean A Auel (which is approx 500 pages) it was read in two days so a book doesn't last very long for me, so THE THICKER THE BETTER (sorry for shouting) :)

Spot the difference
I've made a few minor changes on my blog this evening.
I decided to change my visitor counter and deleted the Html text for my old one...but at the same time (without thinking, looking or giving it a second thought) I deleted my background layout and a few other bits as well that was on the same page.
Hmmmm....
I'm not 100% happy with the look of my blog at the moment but it will stay this way for a while. I would have changed it back but I cant remember where I found my original template for the background

What a lovely surprise
She'd seen a picture on my blog of a pink mascot that I've crocheted and she asked if I could make one for her.
I made the mascot straight away and sent it off to her thinking no more of it...then today I had a little surprise arriving in the letter box.
At the moment I seem to be missing one or two vital ingredients from every recipe but that will soon change though since I just put a food order in with Sainsburys :D
There is gonna be loads of baking done here in the near future.
